I won’t lie, I felt like this book had a very slow start. They didn’t agree on everything but it was the fact that even with their differences they still loved each other deeply.

The relationship with her grandfather was great too because they were able to lean on each other. It was amazing to see how she could lean on those closest to her. Some of the biggest highlights for me were Scarlett’s relationships with her family and friends. For someone who is so well put together, she does have her moments of naivety. The one thing that stood out the most to me though is that she still has a lot of growing up to do. For some one who experiences such a strong loss, she does an amazing job of keeping it together. Reading about her losing her brother and how she is dealing with his loss is truly touching. Sometimes she questions herself but I think that’s all a part of a coming of age story. For the most part, she knows who she is and is pretty confident with it.

Scarlett is a great character who goes through a great coming of age journey. While there she joins a band and finds out some things about herself, her brother, and her feelings for a certain boy. Scarlett loses her brother to a drug overdose and decides to spend the summer before going off to college with her grandfather. I think the idea for the book was good and the writing was good, but the author just went about the story the wrong way.Īll the Wrong Chords is a very interesting story. There wasn't really any build up to them kissing, besides them talking a few times. Then the author had to throw in a romance between Scarlett and Zach at the last second. I don't think she could accept that the guy didn't like her and when he did "like" her she thought they were together like right away and was mad when he didn't text her and then she was "over" him. She seriously though everything was about her. This girl was so immature, I thought I was reading about a 14 year old. He was so hot and she liked him, he liked her sister, so obviously her sister was plotting against her and trying to "steal him from her". The whoooole book was pretty much about Declan.

I understand that the book was supposed to be about her and how she used music to help move on from her brothers death, but I did not really see it that way. I was looking forward to reading about how Scarlett was dealing with her brother's death. After reading the first few chapters, I couldn't wait to see where the story would go.
